There are different chisels for different materials, make sure you do not run the chisel in the wrong material.
Do not apply too much pressure, but let the machine work with its own weight. Do not hang on the machine if you are going to drive on the floor, e.g.
If the stroke rate is adjustable, make sure you use the correct stroke rate for the material / chisel you are working with. Check this with the owner.
