Cancel a booking & refund a customer
If the customer cancels, the cancellation policy applies. However, when the owner cancels, the entire rental amount, including our booking fee, will be refunded to the customer. As an owner, if you need to cancel a rental for any reason, the customer is always entitled to a full refund. Therefore, it is crucial that you initiate the cancellation. You can change the price on a rental request in our app (for example if you agreed to a special deal). To do so, go into the request and click on the price. This will allow you to manually update the price of that particular request. Changing the pris on a rental request will not affect the price on other bookings or in the ad itself. Price cannot be changed on a request after the customer has paid. It is therefore important to update the price prior to payment. When someone has sent you a rental request, you will be notified of this, either via a push notice to the app or by SMS. You will find your rental reequests under your bookings under the tab "Requests". In the rental request you see the following details: Rental period. As of today, we unfortunately do not have a function to extend an ongoing rental period. In order to extend, the customer will have to send a new rental request for the extra days. If, on the other hand, you have agreed that the customer can keep the thing for a day or two extra, at no extra cost, then you do not need to extend the rental period. In the app, you as a lender have the option to repay parts of the rent. Navigate to the booking and press the edit icon next to the price. There you can refund any amount you wish to the customer and our commission is adjusted accordingly. The partial refund must be done before you mark the object as returned. If you wish to refund the entirety of the rent cost, you can do so by canceling the booking.Few readersChange date
As of today, you are not able to change the rental date yourself. To change the date, you must therefore either cancel the booking and then the customer can send a new, updated rental request or contact our support and we can manually change it for you. Value of your things
When we know the value of the items rented out we can ensure a safer rental experience and improve our price recommendations. Where will the value be visible? It will not be visible anywhere on the platform. It will only be visible for yourself and for internal use. How can I know what the item is worth? When renting out through Hygglo, you can choose from three cancellation policies. Opting for the most flexible policy will make your listing more attractive to potential borrowers. Please note that if you, as the owner, cancel the booking, the renter will receive a full refund. Places, unique ad for each place When you create an ad, you have the option to add several different places as pick-up locations. All places you enter will then have a "separate" ad. When someone searches for an item where your ad appears, they only see the ad with the address that is closest to the place the customer is searching from. Unpublish an ad on the Website: Go to your ads and click on the ad you want to inactivate. In the box that appears, you will see a checkbox indicating that your ad is published. Uncheck this box to unpublish the ad. When the ad is unpublished, it will no longer be visible on Hygglo, and renters will not be able to send new rental requests for the ad. It is important to set the right price to optimize your chances of renting out. When you create an ad on Hygglo, you will see a price recommendation from Hygglo for each category. These recommendations are based on previous activity on the platform and are usually quite good to follow. However we do recommend you take in consideration the condition and brand of your particular item when setting the price. How am I taxed when renting out?
There are different rules depending on if you are based in Sweden or in Norway. Please see what applies to you below: You fill in your income from Hygglo in the income tax return. It is taxed as capital income, which in most cases is 30% (regardless of income from salary). It is currently taxed from the first earned Swedish Krona. When renting out as a company via Hygglo, you need to bookkeep both your income and the cost to Hygglo. The income you have in the company is the total amount of the rental price, what the customer paid for the rent (rent price minus booking fee). This is income with VAT. Then you have a cost to Hygglo for our commission (16% + VAT) which you bookkeep as a cost with ingoing VAT. For example: Bengt rents an ozone generator from Rentout AB for 200 kr. When you rent out things on Hygglo, you will be able to download transaction documents for the transactions you have through Hygglo. This can be used for bookkeeping purposes if you rent out as a company. The documents can be found on the website here: https://www.hygglo.se/user/invoices. What happens in case of a delayed return?
If a rented out item is not returned at the agreed time, then the first thing you should do is to contact the person who has rented it to find a solution for when the item can be returned to you. If you do not reach a solution, or if you cannot get in touch with the person, please contact us so that we can help you. Our highest priorirty is of course for you to get your item back.
